Claimed tax relief each year on mileage paid by my previous employer who paid 18ppm, below the recommended 45ppm. I started with my new employer on April 1st 2023, who pay the recommended 45ppm. Tried to de-register from self assessment earlier this year, but was advised I still have to complete a return for tax year 23-24: why? No one else in the company has to do this, so I’m a bit confused!?!?
