Hello, my husband had the same name as another employee at his company and the employer submitted the wrong P11Ds for the two men. They admit the mistake but can’t get HMRC to recognise it and change the records. This was a year ago and we are getting threatening letters from debt collection agency’s for money we supposedly owe for cars we’ve never owned. Employer says they’ve submitted all the right paperwork, HMRC say they haven’t. We’re caught in the middle and distraught. What can we do???

Hi,

If the employer has submitted incorrect P11d then they would need to submit the amended details to HMRC so we can reassess the record. If HMRC advise they have not received the details, you should contact the empoyer and they can submit the amendment in writing to HMRC to review.

Thank you.
