Is a Personal Tax Account and a Self Assessment Account the same account?

Confused as I setup a self assessment account as I had some untaxed monies to be declared. I was later told I did not need to use this method as I could advise the data on the Paye Personal tax pages. Does this mean I have an unnecessary Self Assessment account and if so how do I get it removed, not even sure I can identify it from the .Gov login pages? Thanks

You can check if you meet Self Assessment criteria here:
Check if you need to send a Self Assessment tax return
If after checking the criteria and you do not meet any criteria then you can submit a request to close your Self Assessment record.
