P11D Benefits Information Request

I just received a letter from the HMRC requesting a P11D form from a former employer for the tax year ending on the 5th of April 2023. However, I left that company on the 1st of April 2022 which was in the previous tax year. Is this simply a clerical error or a scam/spam letter? Please advise. Thank you for your time and attention.
