Hi, I would like to ask what are the tax implications of receiving money from abroad as a peer-to-peer loan. We would have a signed agreement between us. The money will not generate interest in the UK as it would be used for buying a property. The loan would be interest free. Do I need to declare this loan to HMRC in some way? In case the loan is not interest free, does this change anything? Thanks!

Hi ,

This would be seen as a cash gift and not liable to tax.

You do not need to declare this .

Thank you .
