Hi there, I am a tutor and I am self-employed but I also am employed via PAYE by a tutoring company. I am in the process of completing my return for 23-24. In that period, the income I made from the PAYE company was under the threshold for personal allowance, so I didn't pay any tax via PAYE through them. My additional income through my self-employed work brought my income over the personal allowance threshold. Am I solely responsible for paying the tax due on the combination of the income from my self-employed and PAYE employed income? Thank you

Hi ,

Yes, you are responsible for paying the tax due on your combined income - this will be done through Self-Assessment.

Thank you .
