Dear all, I am French citizen, however I am a UK fiscal resident since 2017. I have a French life insurance from which I am trying to close and redeem the full amount. I have provided the French Tax authorities with a CoR from HMRC, however, this document is not accepted by the French Tax Authorities to allow full redemption. I am instead requested to provide forms EN-5000 and EN-5002. I have sent both documents in 3 copies to HMRC who must sign and send two backs. I have sent those documents multiple times this year to HMRC since March 2023 (Pay As You Earn and Self Assessment, HMRC, BX9 1AS with signature against delivery) but no documents have been sent back, neither to me, to the French fiscal authorities nor to the French based life-insurance company. Once documents are sent to HMRC, there is no visibility of where this demand is at, not even an ID to track the status on my online personal tax account/government gateway. Is there an email to contact HMRC about my request? I have tried calling multiple times this month but have never been put through to any Technical Advisors and need an answer asap on this. Thanks in advance.

I am beneficiary, with my two French sisters, under French life insurance policies taken out by my French parents, both of whom died in April this year in France. I am resident in the UK for tax purposes, am retired, and have income less than my personal tax allowance. Do I need to complete a UK tax return on any of the monies I receive from the French life insurance policies payable following my parents' deaths?
