I changed employers 4 months ago. My normal tax code is S1263L. HMRC assumed that my new job was a second one and I paid too much tax. I advised HMRC that I only had one job a couple of weeks ago. HMRC changed the codes for both my old job and my new one. I paid £1101 tax with my old employer and the code has now been changed to S118LX the code for my current job has been changed to S74TX . This means that I am due tax back from both employers. . My question is - will the rebate come from my current employer or is my old employer expected to rebate me for the £1101 and my new employer for the balance? I am no longer in contact with my old employer.

Hi Andrew Williams,
Any refund due will be from your new employer if this is now your only job.
The tax code issued is on a non cumulative basis so this code will not generate a refund.
You will need to contact HMRC to review and if a refund is due issue the amended tax code:

Thank you.
