I recently started a job here in the UK. When completing the PAYE information to give to my employer I choose scenario B. "B – This is now my only job, but since last 6 April I have had another job, or received taxable Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or taxable Incapacity Benefit." This was because I have had another job this year - but not in the UK I wonder if this is actually incorrect and if I'm now on the wrong tax code. Should I have chosen scenario A? "A – This is my first job since last 6 April and I have not been receiving taxable Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, taxable Incapacity Benefit, State or Occupational pension." Since this is my first UK job? Please let me know if I should contact HMRC to rectify this - thank you!

Hi,

You should have chosen option A. To resolve this, you will need to contact HMRC on:

 Income Tax: general enquiries

Alternatively, it can be resovled after the tax year has ended.

Thank you.
