I would like to make a loan of £1000 to a family member who is setting up a business. This will be an interest free loan and they will pay me back when they have the money coming in from their business. Do I have to declare this loan? Do I have to pay tax on these loan repayments as I am not receiving any additional money from this loan, only my own money back.

Hi,
We can confirm that there are no Income Tax implications unless the loan pay back generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax. You do not need to declare it.
Thank you
