My employer has decided to close the office on Fridays, forcing me to work from home. I am an office based full time employee and did not have a choice regarding this when I started at the company. To work effectively from home on these days I need to purchase appropriate equipment such as a desk & chair, am I able to claim tax relief on these? Thanks

Hi,

Please have a look at this link:

Claim tax relief for your job expenses

There is a test to help you confirm if expenses can be claimed at 'buying other equipment'.

Thank you.

is it possible to get any advice on the above? my understanding is I should be able to claim as I have not chosen to work from home.
