Could my tax code be wrong?

Hello I am moving job and I have been asked to provide my P45, which I don't have. I noticed on my payslips from my current employer (in Scotland) that my tax code is S826L. Why would it not be the standard S1257L?

Hi Jonathan Oakes,
If you have an online account you can view your tax code online to check why it's lower than the standard 1257L.
If unable to view online then you will need to contact HMRC to review your tax code:
