Bring savings from the Cayman Islands

Hi I have was previously working in the Cayman Islands and now intend to bring the money in UK Is there any tax on such a transfer? Further if there is no tax, do I need to first let my bank know about the transfer?

As long as the money you are bringing into the UK from your Cayman bank account was not earned in the tax year you bring it to the UK, then it will not be taxable.

There is no HMRC requirment for you to notify your UK bank. You may wish to speak to your banking provider, in case they have any other requirements.
