Hi There. I am a student and from the period of April ‘23 to the end of the tax year this year I paid about 200£ of tax. I obviously earn well under the 12.500 tax free allowance and normally receive a tax refund/return around this time. Upon looking at HMRC website, I am told in this period ‘ You paid the right amount of Income Tax for 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024 … you paid 0£’ This is not true I am wondering if I need to contact them to see this 200£ or it will still come through. Thanks a lot for any help in advance. Tom

Hi RHMRCCANNIVE,
It is possible that you may have had the £200 repaid to you in-year, via your regular wage from your employer. To allow us to confirm this, contact us by webchat or phone via:
Income Tax: general enquiries.
Thank you.
