Hi, I moved to the UK in March 2023. I run 2 small companies outside of the UK, both registered as limited companies, but I am closing them before April 2024. I am pretty sure that for Government Gateway User ID I should register as an individual user. But for self-assessment, should I register as Self-Employed, or Partner in a Partnership? I have no business nor income in the UK, except the saving interests from banks. I also do not have any job in the UK. Appreciate your advice. Many thanks. Kevin

Hi,

Please see Tax on foreign income: Overview.

Tax on foreign income

As a UK resident you are required to declare your worldwide income in the UK. The question as to whether you are self-employed or in a partnership is one for you to decide.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. Yes my intention is to declare worldwide income, just not sure which type to register for self-assessment. Now I know this is up to me. Thanks again. Kevin
