Hi Officer, I was offered a United Kingdom (UK) visa (90 days vignette - BNO dependent) on 08 Sep 2023, yet I just arrived the UK on 01 Mar 2024, and just get my BRP. As I know I will be a tax resident after 183 days. I would like to ask if the 183 days start counting from the date I got the visa (08 Sep 2023), or from my physical presence in the UK (01 Mar 2024)? Best Wishes, TY

Hi TY,
To confirm it is the date you arrived in the UK.
Thank you

Hi Officer, Thank you for the reply. May I clarify that starting from 1st September 2024, I will become a taxable resident, and all the income, money transfer from outside the uk start from this date will need to take into consideration for tax, but not those before 1st September 2024? Best Wishes, TY

Hi,
As you were only physically in the UK frm 1 March 2024, you would use that date when applying your 183 day rule.
Thank you.
