Hi I went from a permanent position to a casual position with the same firm. The only thing that has changed is my employer number. I know I’m paying tax because my payslips are saying so, but for some reason according to my HMRC app there has been no payments since I changed my status back in April. It is slightly worrying as I don’t want to end up with a tax bill when I’ve already paid.

Hi,

If you have changed payroll number within your employment then they would need to notify HMRC online to update your record. If still not showing on your online account I would contact your payroll department to check they have notified HMRC and if notified but not updated contact HMRC to review.

Hi many thanks for the update having been in contact with my HR department they have informed me my earnings are sent via RTI which apparently uses my national insurance number as a reference.
