I currently earn a salary above the 40% tax bracket. £54000. I give money to a charity each month so have had my tax code adjusted to claim back some of the girt aid tax. I was advised by a friend I could do this. However, I am also part of a salary sacrifice scheme at work for my pension. I think this may bring me back under the 40% tax bracket. My P60 is showing £49,9665. Should I get back in touch with HMRC to gat my tax code put back as it was or can I still claim back on the money I give to charity? I'm not sure how it's worked out.

Hi Dave4471,
If your income is now below the higher rate tax band then your income details would need to be updated and as relief no longer due on your gift aid payments your tax code will be updated.
You can updated your estimated income online:
Personal tax account: sign in or set up
Or contact HMRC:
Income Tax: general enquiries
Thank you.
