Good morning, I am a US Citizen I have been living in the UK for 8 months with a valid BRP and have just gotten an hourly paid contracting job for a company in the U.S. I am looking for the best advice as to if I need to be set up as self-employed or how my taxes will work. The company and I are working on details for payment but as of right now I will be paid (tax-free as a 1099 US contractor) into my U.S. bank account and I will then transfer the money with a banking service to my UK bank account. Thank you for the help - I want to make sure everything is done correct along with avoiding being penalized or double taxed.

You will be classed as self employed and as such will need to register for Self Assessment. You can see information here:
