I recently joined my partner in the UK as a dependant. I transferred to a remote working position with my existing employer, who are based overseas and have no UK presence. My salary is paid to my bank account in the same country as my employer. Do I have to pay any taxes on any money I spend here using my overseas bank account debit card? (I only spend using my card for small expenses, I do not transfer any money to a UK account and my partner covers the majority of our living expenses).

Hi Noor,
This is classed as a remittance so is taxable income.
Please see:
Remittance basis 2024 (HS264)
Thank you.
