Airdrops for solo stakers

Hello If you are an Ethereum Solo Staker and you have received an airdrop because you are a Solo Staker how is this taxed? Also, if you receive an airdrop and there is no market value for the token at the time, do you need to pay any tax on this or is it just the case that a cost basis of zero would be used when the token is sold?
