If we have had prior contact with you confirming that the cheque will be returned by you to be cancelled, then it should be cancelled in due course. If you are unsure, though, and would like us to confirm the cancellation, please contact our Income Tax team.

I have received a cheque in August 2024 and would like to know if there is time limit on it as to when I can cash it/ deposit it ?

You have 6 months to cash or deposit your cheque before it goes out of date. I
f you have a cheque that HAS gone out of date, contact us by webchat or phone via:
Income Tax: general enquiries to allow us to issue a replacement.
