Dear HMRC My grand-father who was French died last year. I am also French and l've lived in the UK for more than 15 years (EU settled status). My grand-father made me the beneficiary of some of his life insurances and I received life insurance lump sum payouts after his death i.e. during the fiscal year ending April 2024. Are these income taxable in the UK and if yes how should they be reported in my Self-Assessment / Tax Return? Thank you.
