I've recently moved to the UK but am still employed by a foreign company. My employer has a UK branch but maintains that I'm under foreign employment and won't assist with UK tax reporting. As a new UK resident with foreign-sourced employment income, how should I report and pay taxes in the UK? Do I need to register for Self Assessment, and are there any specific forms or procedures I should follow given my circumstances?

Hi acp paul peter,
Yes, you would need to register for Self Assessment and complete a Self Assessment tax return at the tax year end.
Please see guidance here:
Check how to register for Self Assessment
Thank you.

Under Double Tax Agreement between UK and Hong Kong. If I'm under foreign employment and paid Tax to HK Government. Do I need to report the Tax to UK Government? If yes, do I need to pay tax to UK Government?

Hi,
Article 14 advises when you are taxable in the UK or Hong Kong, depending on which country you are in at the time.
