~GBP60k wedding gift from North Macedonia

Hi, My grandfather who lives in North Macedonia (where I am originally from) wants to gift me and my husband around 60k pounds as a wedding gift to help with a down payment. I am a UK resident and citizen. Are we liable for any tax or declaration on this amount? Thank you.

No, there are no tax implication of a cash gift.
However, any interest or dividends that this then generates is taxable income.
