Hi. I'm a FR citizen, resident in the UK in 2022 (now living elsewhere). My FR bank mistakenly applied a withholding tax on interest income that I received in that year. For the FR tax authorities to reimburse me, they require two forms (5000 and 5002) to be certified by HMRC. Two questions: Can I send the forms to HMRC, PAYE & Self Assessment, BX9 1AS? Do I need to send you proof that I was a UK resident in 2022 (eg. council tax bills)? I did not have any UK income and did not pay UK tax as I am retired. Thank you.

Hi,
Please send the 5000 and 5002 forms for validation.  If we can verify from your tax records that you were resident in the UK for the period the forms are for, such as employment or tax return etc, we will date stamp and sign the forms and return them to you.
Thank you.
