Hello, I am employed full time in the UK, and I am planning to move permanently to Cyprus over the next few months and become a tax resident there. I would like for my UK employment to continue while I live in Cyprus. From reading Guides in gov.uk I have found that the NT Tax Code is what is most suitable for my scenario. Could you kindly advise on the next steps for this? Do I need to individually apply for the NT Tax Code using the P85 form? Is there additional paperwork that needs to be submitted by my employer? Furthermore, is there a limit on how long I can keep my employment on an NT Tax Code while leaving abroad? Many thanks, Nikos

Hi
You cannot apply for this until you actually leave and it will be the P85 that you use - you will not have the P45 to attach to it as you are still employed. There is no limit to the time this code can be applied but you do need to notify HMRC if you reeturn to the UK. There is no paper work required from your employer.
