Company car on Personal tax account

Hi been looking the add company car section on the HMRC portal via paye and it says add a missing company car then asks for salary sacrifice amount but doesn’t indicate if this is monthly or annual sacrifice nor is there any guidance . Which is is ?

Thank you for raising this. I have checked our guidance, and if we were to take the details of the company car over the phone, we ask for the annual amount of salary sacrifice. I have clarified that it is the annual amount required on the PTA as well. I have raised this point with the creators of the PTA and requested whether the wording can be changed to clarify this. Thank you again, and apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

Hi many thanks and to confirm is this also used if the vehicle is an EV I saw a calculator on the hmrc website which seemed to Be indicating if an EV do not enter a salary sacrifice amount ? Not sure why

Yes.  In order to calculate the annual benefit that will appear in the tax code, we use annual figures in all cases.
