My Spouse died a few weeks ago and a couple of days after he died he received a p800 tax refund. I have used the tell all service and I have received a letter to confirm that HMRC are aware that he passed away and that he didn’t owe any tax but it doesn’t mention anything about the tax refund. Should I be entitled to this? I have tried to call a few times but never get to speak to anyone.

Hi,

If you contact our Income Tax team we will be able to cancel the cheque and arrange  to re-issue it as applicable.
