I've looked at some threads and other information about delays in changing PAYE codes. I can't see online evidence of any particular problems but I have been waiting 8 months for HMRC to change my PAYE code for this year. I requested a change in February when I received the code.

Hi Maryjay,
I am sorry if your code as not yet been amended.
If you think your code is still incorrect then you will need to contact HMRC to access your records to review your tax code.

I have contacted HMRC on line, by letter and by telephone (when I could get through). I have even made an official complaint. The last officer I spoke to on the phone kept repeating "I can only apologise" "They will amend you code/deal with your complaint". He said they were working through the backlog and would deal with me when they got to me in date order. Or words to that effect. I have checked on line again today. My code is still unchanged .
