Hello, My parents are domicile in New Zealand and are selling their house in there. They want to gift some of the proceeds to me here in the UK. could you advise if there is a limit to the amount they can send? Would I need to declare this income and would, if any, tax need to be paid? Many thanks SDW

Hi,
There are no Income Tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends. These would then potentially be subject to tax. Further guidance can be found here:
Tax on savings interest
Tax on dividends
There is no limit to the amount they can give you.
Thank you.
