Hello my name is Andre, I work for a UK based company. I am planing to move with my wife back to Portugal (I was born there) but continuing to work remotely for my UK company, I have the following questions: 1) Will I be following double taxation agreement or taxed only in Portugal? I want to continue to get my salary into my UK account and continue to pay taxes and pension in the UK, 2) Does my employer also have to pay taxes in Portugal? 3)Please advice on my queries and direct me to guidance

Hi andreventura,
If you plan to live in Portugal on a long term basis, you are likely to be deemed tax resident in Portugal and therefore liable to pay Portuguese tax on your UK employment income.
At which point HMRC will authorise your UK employer to apply an NT code.
You should advise HMRC of your change in residence circumstances by completing form P85.
Or the Residence pages of your Self Assessment (SA) tax return, if your are within SA.
Employees working abroad
Get your Income Tax right if you're leaving the UK (P85)
Thank you.
