Hi there, My mother who is Irish resident, inherited an Irish property and money in an Irish bank account from her uncle who is domiciled and resident in the UK. There was IHT paid on the these assets in the UK. She now has to pay Irish tax on her inheritance so the property is being taxed twice on the same event. From what I understand, as the assets were located in Ireland, the Irish Tax Authorities have taxing rights because the assets were located there and they will not give a credit for the tax paid in the UK. How does my mother go about reclaiming the IHT paid in the UK? Any help would be much appreciated,
