Last tax year I left my employer in March so have P45 in month 12. They also paid me severance in April Tax month 1. When I go through self assessment am I considered employed for one month? Follow on from this is then can I make a pension contribution from my net pay and get tax relief on it or do I have to be 'employed' even though I'm not going to have an employer in this tax year?

Hi
Yes you would declare employment for the 1 month you were paid and can claim pension relief.
