For the last 14 years I keep seeing an old employer in my ‘list of employers’ on my tax account every year. I notified HMRC last year and I understood they sorted it. Even contacted my local council dept (who deal with direct personal carer funding to those people who employ a carer direct) to advise I was no longer an employee to this individual since 2006. And understood they still had me on account but assured me they would take me off. I have a P45 from when I was employed back in 2006 should I need to prove. Again this year, this employer shows on my tax account (they only appear after the end of each tax year). So I’m guessing this must be fraud as I’m making a guess that they are claiming for an extra carer that they aren’t actually employing thus keeping the money. Can anyone advise how I go about getting this ex employer off my account and stop them keep registering me each year.
