Personal tax account credit

Having completed my self assessment, I checked my tax account and note that I have a credit (overpayment). Can I simply subtract my credit amount from the sum that my tax calculation informs me that I need to pay by Jan 31st. I assume this is the case but don't want to 'underpay' and suffer a fine. thanks in advance.

Hi,

Yes, any credit on your account will be allocated the balance becoming due 31 January.
