I have just taken on a second job which takes me over the 40% earnings threshold - what tax code do I need to be on for my second job?

Hi ,

If the entirety of your second job is in the 40% tax bracket, then a D0 tax code would be appropriate.

If only part of your secondary source is taxable at 40% then we would tax the secondary source on a 20% tax code of BR and
include an 'Adjustment to Rate Band' in your primary tax code which would collect the additional tax due through your first job.

Thank you .
