Hi. I'm tax resident in Spain and want to start drawing down on my private pension when I reach 55 next year. Can I fill in this form now to avoid paying UK tax on future drawdown money, or do I have to wait until drawdown starts, then reclaim the tax paid? The form asks for dates, payment references, and p60 for drawdown payments, which I don't have yet. Thank you.

Hi Balor Knight,
No, you need to wait until it has started.
HMRC cannot issue a code to a source that doesn't exist so it will be a case of the pension being taxed for you to then claim a refund.
Thank you.
