Application to pay voluntary NI contributions from abroad

I set my application in April 23 but have heard nothing. How can I find out if my application has been received? Due to long queue times, calling by phone is both time consuming and expensive.

You can use our webchat facility if you are unable to contact us by telephone. Webchat is available from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Please choose the option ‘Ask HMRC online’.

I can confirm that the current timescale for your application is 40 weeks if you are applying from an EU country. The team is currently working on applications received on 06 February 2023.

If you are applying from a country outside of the EU, the current timescale for that team is 44 weeks, they are working on applications received on 09 January 2023.
