Can I claim tax allowance for sick Wife

Hi, My Wife is undergoing radio/chemotherapy, she will not be working for the foreseeable future (at least another 18 months) and has not since June 2023. A friend told me I may be able to claim some of her personal tax allowance, is this true? Thank you.

If your wife does not use all of her personal tax allowance then she can transfer 10% of her allowance to you. This is the Marriage Allowance transfer. She can apply for the transfer here:
