I started working in the UK in January this year. I have a savings account with interest in my home country in the EU (I am currently a UK resident). I assume I will need to pay tax on the interest here in the UK. The foreign bank has my UK tax identification number, and they know that the UK is my tax recidency. (Does this mean that they will automatically inform the HMRC?) So, if needed, how do I inform the HMRC about the interest I gain from my foreign savings account? I would be very grateful for any help.
