I'm a UK citizen and taxpayer, resident in the UK. I want to gift money to my daughter who lives in Australia. She is an Australian citizen and taxpayer and does not have residency or taxable income in the UK or pay tax in the UK. Is there a limit on how much money I can give to her and are there any taxes payable on the gift?

Hi
There are no Income tax implications or limits for you but there may be Inheritance Tax implications, you would need to check with our Inheritance Tax team.
Inheritance Tax: general enquiries
Your daughter should check with the Australian tax authorities for any tax implications for her.
Thank you.
