I am in the process of completing my 2023/2024 tax return. I would like to reduce my tax liability by making a one off contribution of £5,000 in November 2024 direct to my pension providers. I am not going to beach the annual allowance of £60,000. Question - can I carry back the £5,000 payment made in Nov 24 to my 2023/2024 tax return figures and if yes where would I report this payment... which box and on which SA form? Many thanks

Hi,
No, relief is only due in the tax year that the contribution is made.
Thank you
