I am non-UK resident and encashed my personal pension which I took as one pot in September 2023. The pension provider deducted tax. On 30th September 2023 I sent a DT Individual form stamped by my country of residence to reclaim this Uk tax deducted at source. I called many times for an update. I received a reply from hmrc on 12th February confirming I am due a refund. An indicator has been set on my account because in 2017 I had an outstanding debt which was cleared but the indicator was never removed. This is preventing my refund being considered. If I still owe money hmrc has not requested it. I have called many times for an update on when I might hear from hmrc. The adviser raised a request for a technician to look at my case on 5th February. I raised a complaint on 22nd April, 15 days ago. I have completed my 23/24 tax return which confirms I am due a refund and I have raised a request for repayment. It has been 220 days now since I sent the form. There seems little point in calling advisers as my case needs to be dealt with by a technician. As I'm not in the Uk calls are costly when there are long wait times. Your chat line is unavailable and a letter will likely join another queue. Is there anything else I can do to being this torture to an end to at least get some sort of explanation from hmrc?

Hi berry16,
We cannot deal with individual cases on the forum as your records needs to be accessed.
You will need to contact us direct again for this to be looked at.
Thank you.
