Eligibility for 30 hours free childcare

Hi there, My daughter turns 3 in the next tax year. Am I right in thinking my eligibility for free childcare will be based on what my adjusted income is in the next tax year (24/25), rather than the current one (23/24)? If yes, how does HMRC calculate this as we'll be looking to apply for free childcare around halfway through the tax year? Is the net income accrued over the tax year to date projected across the remainder of the tax year? Thanks for you help!
