Two jobs

I have two jobs. Previously job 1 was the one that I worked most hours for so job 2 was the one for which I paid basic rate tax. From mid October I will be working more hours for job 2 and less for job 1. My question is which job becomes the one I pay BR on and does this happen automatically or do I need to do anything myself?

We would automatically be applying the BR code to the new job as the Personal Allowance would already be in place at the first job.
