Dear HMRC Small information, I signed up for some bonus £5,172.24 (£3k net) when I joined a company. They made sure I received a net amount which was signed upon, meaning they also calculated tax and showed that in payslip. Now that I am leaving, which amount I need to pay? As per my understanding it's the net amount (£3k) . Please provide your inputs. Thanks.

Hi
That is between you and your employer if you have not met the conditions, however it is normally the net amount.

Thank you, but they have deducted the gross amount from my final pay slip. In this case how do I get back the excess tax amount and NI amount that's being deducted for this?

Hi,

Your employer should provide you with written confirmation that it has been paid back, for you to send in for a repayment. This should be sent to:

HMRC,
PAYE & Self Assessment
BX9 1AS

Thank you.
