Hello, I am a little bit confused. I have received a chargeable event certificate for our deceased relative. The letter is addressed to me, £12159.00. chargable gain, tax treated as paid £2512.00. Does this need to go on my own personal tax return or my late relatives? If this goes on my own, that is okay, I have worked out where this is placed on the form. If it goes on my late relatives, do I need to call the tax office or wait unit they contact me?

Hi,
If the certificate is in the deceased's name, then you will need to send it to us at:
HMRC,
PAYE & Self Assessment,
BX9 1AS.
If it is in your name, it is you who reports it.
Thank you.
