I have lost my gateway user ID and I tried recovering it using the HMRC "recover your user ID" link. I seemed to have managed to recover it, however, when I tried signing in with the ID provided, the page would tell me "We have found your personal tax account under a different Government Gateway user ID xxxx". I tried recovering the ID again and it would give me the same "wrong" user ID everytime! There are certain things I need to get done asap, but it seems that my only option now is to call HMRC office which doesn't open until Monday! Why is this happening? Has anyone ever encountered this problem and how did you solve it? Thanks
