P87 Mix up

In previous years I have done a self assessment form, This year as my expenses are below £2500 and i work for a different company i have filed a P87. HMRC had mistakenly kept my self assessment file open meaning that my p87 wouldn't go through. My estimated response date was 20th of April, the man I spoke to over the phone said he had escalated it on his side so it should be pushed towards the top of the pile. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this before and how long extra did you have to wait? Thank you
